We come from a long way of having a REAL good Superman movie since Superman 1 and 2. Last one we had, Superman Returns, was an utter disappointment towards my favorite DC Superhero of all time.
But now that I seen the newest entry, Man of Steel, I left the theater with a smile of satisfaction. The story... wow. Actors... wow. Special effects and actions... just, wow! So epic!
I kinda feel like this is a perfect Superman movie, but it just like what I said before, there is no such thing as a perfect movie. I feel the pacing in the beginning needs to be faster, and I think the movie should have been a lot better if the camera stay steady and still. Seriously, is the shaky cam really that necessary, even for a Superman movie?
If it wasn't for the shaky cam, the pacing, and some other tidbits I might have missed, I would have given it a perfect score, as I deemed this a perfect Superman movie. Even then, I still give it a higher rating. It isn't as epic as The Avengers or The Dark Knight, but still it's good as The Amazing Spider-Man, The Dark Knight Rises, and Iron Man 3(which frankly, I can't decide which movie is better of this year so far.) This is a good start for the new generation of Superman movies, (and maybe even a great beginning of the DC Movie Universe. Here's hoping for the Justice League in the near future!)
